Your first visit to COCO Dental

In order to care for you and your teeth, we make it our priority to get to know you. The first thing we will do is take some information about your general health and your oral health for our records.

At your first appointment with one of our experienced dentists, you can expect an initial assessment. This will involve a general inspection of your mouth, teeth and gums. Your dentist will count your teeth, check on the condition of any fillings and the health of your gums. They can discuss any specific concerns that you may have or any treatments that you are interested in.

Also, at your first visit we will take X-rays of your teeth, this will help us to better understand your oral health and will show up any possible issues that may not have been spotted at your initial assessment. This can include oral infections, and gum disease.

FAQ's for New Patients

I’m interested in having teeth whitening. Can I register as an NHS dental patient?

You are welcome to register as an NHS patient, but teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental treatment as it is not considered essential to the health of your teeth. Therefore, you would have to pay a fee for this treatment.

How often should I visit the dentist, and do you have a hygienist also on site?

Most people need to visit the dentist every 6 to12 months. We would need to check on the health of your teeth before telling you how frequently you should visit, and this is because patients with good oral health can generally visit less frequently than those patients who have problems with their teeth. We do have a team of hygienists here at Eastgate Dental and again, most patients should visit their hygienist every 6 to 12 months too.

Are you open at the weekends?

No.
