Are dermal fillers safe?

Yes. At Eastgate Dental we only use quality, leading brands with a proven safety record. Hyaluronic acid is a property which can be found naturally in your skin cells so there is no risk of an allergic reaction.

What is the after-care process?

We can talk about this with you in detail after your dermal filler treatment. You will be able to drive, go back to work or your usual daily routine after having treatment. We often advise not to carry out vigorous exercise, not to drink alcohol and not to lie down flat for the rest of the day after having treatment. If you have had dermal filler treatment to your lips you may want to avoid hot drinks for a few hours. You should also avoid extreme heat or cold for example with sunbathing for a couple of weeks after having the treatment.

What is the difference between dermal fillers and botulinum toxin?

Botulinum toxin relaxes muscle movement that results in wrinkles, whilst dermal fillers plump out and smooth wrinkles. Both anti-ageing treatments involve injections and sometimes these treatments are more effective when combined.
